On a weekly basis, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), an independent agency of the US government, publishes the Commitments of Traders (CoT) reports to help the public understand market dynamics. Tipically released on Fridays, the COT Reports provide a Tuesday's breakdown of open interest for futures and options on futures markets in which 20 or more traders hold positions equal to or above the reporting levels established by the CFTC.
The CoT Reports can be accessed every week through the CFTC official website. However, given the way the reported data is presented, it can be difficult to read sometimes. Cotreports.org aims to help with that by displaying the report data in a much easier way to read, allowing you to compare reports and navigate though historical data of every contract tracked by the CFTC in their CoT reports.
Note: Cotreports.org is and independent website and is not associated in any way with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
